Gold 911 with 3.6 & American Racing Wheels?

Does anyone remember this car from last year on ebay?

It was a gold 911T with 3.6 & contemporary American Racing Torq Thrust type wheels (I guess they were 16" or 17")

Are there any photos still around?

    Thanks!

Go to the "Conversions" page at LA Dismantlers:
    http://www.911pcar.com/Porsche_Parts...rsion_kits.htm

The top line of pictures is of the '68 911S w/ 993 engine of which you speak, I believe.

    Why do you ask?

That is the one- thanks TT.

Bob- you're right thats definitely not a SWB. I thought it was a 70 or 71 from memory.

I just remembered it from ebay, but couldn't find any photos on my harddrive.
The contemporary take on the Torq Thrust wheels on 911's intrigued me at the time. I am wondering if custom American Racing wheels similar to those might be a good option for 8x17 & 9.5x17 wheels on a RS/SC/Carrera flared car... (i.e. a Fikse alternative)

Do you guys think they are 17's or 18's?

You're right, I thought it was strange that they labeled it a '68 on their website.

They were 17s, as I remember.

I don't think it sold on Ebay, Curtis. I don't think it met the reserve the time I saw it.

I thought the 16s would be a little more convincing...if you blurred your vision. They are not a bolt on app for the 911. Note the mods necessary to make them work.

Very nice wheels, but the 17s look rather Coddington or Fooseian. The IMNSHO proportions look wrong. Perhaps a 16 or 15 series and they would be a knock-out.

As Dennis Miller used to say, "But's just my opinion. I could be wrong."
