    Track Day 2/22/06 Willow Springs

    Gang,

There is a great event coming up on Feb 22nd at Big Willow. It's hosted by American Car Racing Assoc. Several of us ran this event in Dec and had a blast. It's 5-30 minute sessions throughout the day, in three different run groups. There was more than enough track time. The price is right too. $145 for the day which includes lunch and a T shirt. There are several instructors at the track so it's a great way to to learn the line and driving techniques or hone your skills for an entire day at a wonderful facility. The link to the site is www.americancarracing.com

It's a mid week event so take the day off and come join the fun.

Hope to see you all there.

Right on Chris, yes it was a blast at the Big Willow Holiday party!
Let us know how your newly track preped suspension and R rated tires improve your 911 experiance.

With you and Jack Olsen teaming up you should be dropping seconds off your lap times.
$145 to drop 5 seconds a lap? Man that would be a steal!!

    hhmmmm
BTW I have a big track 3.8 wing for sale, the type Jack runs when he likes to fly thru T 8 in 5th gear without lifting....
Ask Jack about the advantages of a wing at Big Willow.

    Wink

You "BIG WING" boys are da bomb..... I think I will go with my tiny Duck Tail for now and then determine if I'm ready to step in to the big leagues later.

As my car is a matching numbers E, I feel I have gone as far as I dare with this car. I'll drive it hard, and run it as strong as it's willing to go based on the current set up. It's probably in V4, so I am happy to learn along those lines. My rabbit is Chuck, so I have lot's to learn.

If I choose to go on from here, I'll consider a dedicated track car in the future.

Thanks for the tip guys. I wish you were all going on the 22nd.......

Chris, my 911 serves double duty and does see the occasional street outing. Although to be honest with all the So. Cal traffic and every other driver out ther trying to play "pimp the Porsche" with every lane change one does... I find little joy in street driving my 911 in metro OC/LA anymore.

But should I want to do so, all I do is:

    a.) change exhaust
    b.) change rear decklid
    c.) Put street tires on
    d.) install licence plate

    .....and voila !!!!!
