Where to buy chrome bumpers gaurds?

    Hi all,
I currently have the ugly big black bumper guards on my '73T. Is there a good place to buy the nicer looking, smaller and correct chrome ones, as seen on the 'S' model?? Do they make these in repro? Are they easy to swap?

    Much appreciated for any info,
    Al

I have a front pair OEM that I could sell you. The fit around the trim may be different. PM me if interested. Thanks.

I ordered a NOS rear pair from Stoddard - not cheap, but they did have a few sets left at the time. Otherwise, try this board, Parts Heaven or watch Ebay.
The rears are very easy to swap. I removed my fronts completely while my bumper was off - I think the challenge here is getting to the bolts on the backside of the front bumper if still mounted.

Al, I have a set of rears I might sell - since I put a FG bumper on my 73.5.

BTW - when I removed my ugly rubber ones, I discovered that the concours people would buy them for a very decent price... so don't toss yours on the trash heap.

also, I hear the repros are not well made...

    wanted chrome S guards

I am interested in a pair of excellent rears with the chrome and rubber pad for my 71. I could trade excellent original black rubber ones or buy outright.

I could use the fronts too. I have those to trade also.

    Thanks

although ugly, i thought the rubber bumper guards are correct for a 73.
i wouldn't get rid of them the next owner might want to keep the car original.
just my $.02 fwiw.btw i think they look cool. to each his own.

The backs are a nice shape and really flow well off the panel but the fronts are "only your mama loves ya" ugly.

I just did this..I removed mine and saved them. The fronts I will leave off but you will need to replace the rubber strip to get rid of the holes. In the rear chrome with pads are euro correct. Or if you don't care you can use just the chrome ones. Stoddards has the chrome ones but the ones with pads are out of stock as of last week, you might want to check. If you can find some decent used chrome ones but the pads are crap you can replace the rubber pad for @$18 dollars ea. but they don't fit as well as the original.

I've a 73 that I took the fronts off. The problem is that the rubber ones are fatter than the chrome ones so the deco strip rubber will ba a tad shorter on both sides of the bumperettes, that will need to be replaced. On the rear replacement is just a bolt on. However I left my black ones on as I thought they looked pretty good.
I also have some front and rear chrome bumperettes and a front rubber deco if you need them.
