Albert Blue 1973S Targa on eBay, "frame off restoration"

Hoo Boy, you guys are going to have a field day with this one from our friends in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. How exactly does one do a "frame off" restoration on a unibody 911? Did they use house carpet for the interior? Still, a '72 S Targa in Albert Blue is a gorgeous car no matter who restores it.

Hmmm. Anybody even remotely considering bidding should read this thread carefully:

It's a tough world out there guys.

It's going to be a tough world for the (so called) restorers once you guys get your teeth into this one. What about the horn grilles for a start.

OH MY GOD; that should be enough for anyone to run away. Oh wait, is that a 5 lug to 4 lug adapter?

BTW, anyone who is trying to sell a collector car, but won't pony up for supersized photos is hiding something.

    AND is that a 901 shifter in a '72?!?

This quote freaks me out, as I remember it well: "This car is an "A" investment and its "5" star rating is going up in value a healthy 20% per year".

Does anyone else remember the rusty Florida fright pig 'S' from a year ago? The descirption used the same quote. Is this the same car or was that a hard top?

The seller comments get even better...

Engine number in car is 6560543 equals 1976 911S engine. You can have this car with the 1973 911S 2.4 MFI engine instead of the 2.7.

    And my favorite:

Q: I would love to see a unit body car with its frame off for restoration. PKW
A: This is just an expression

Yes the 4 hole spare from a VW/914 is worth a chuckle.

How about this question to seller:

"Harold, Great looking car! Good luck with the sale. -Geoff in Chapel Hill."

Geoff Watticker happens to be in Chapel Hill, NC...

    Birds of a feather...

I like the zinc plated hood latch!

    Kenikh-
'72s had the earlier shifter. The "915" shifter didn't appear until '73.
