question about part # for cylinder head

I wanted to see if someone with a parts book could help me identify a part # .
I am looking at replacing my 69E cylinder heads if these that a fellow has for sale are correct.
The heads are nos, complete with guides, seals and studs for 2 litre with a part # of 901 104 303.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Scott

Doesn't look like the right casting number based upon this thread:

What's the casting date on the heads? Were these on Ebay recently? If so, I think they were E heads.

These were on E-bay, but they did not give a casting date. Why do you think these are "E" heads?
    Thanks

If these are the ones I was thinking of, they had a casting date somewhere in early '69 and had injector holes machined in them. They were defintiely not 'S' heads due to the small valves, thus had to be 'E' heads since 'T' cars only had carbs that year (no injector holes). Do you have pictures to post so I can verify we are talking about the same heads?

A great place to get Porsche Part numbers is here: http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...originalparts/.

    The catalogs for 1965-1973 does not show Part # 901 104 303.

    The 65-69 catalog show P/N's of 901-104-003, -005, -006, -008, -009, -033, -035, -036, -038, and -039.

    The 70-73 catalog has only 911-xxx-yyy p/ns

This is why the catalogs are a PIA. They don't show the useful (casting) part numbers for heads, only the group part numbers for a SET of heads. That's why the PET is essentially useless in figuring out what an odd head is.

    Kenik,

No offense but I am aware of the difference.

The person in the original post stated they were giving us a Part Number not a Casting Number. For all we know, the part is in a box (or package) with the P/N. I would hope the person asking the question would clarify this for us.

    Sorry about that.

I read the numbers he showed as castin gnumbers since those looke unlike the nubmers in the PET; it just looked like he dropped the "xR" at the end of the part nubmer.

I agree with you Harry; teescott, are these off of the head or out of a book?

    Shows how much I know.
I thought it was a part #, but this is the number cast onto the part according to the attached pic. It looks like there is a 1R after the 303#.
