correct rocker deco treatment for late '67 911S

    Hi all,
I have a late build 67 911S (#308396S) which has the aluminum sills on the lower rockers (ala 1968) instead of the commonly seen single wide rubber decos. Is it possible these are original to the car as there were only a couple left in the run? Does anyone else have a '67 S who has the 68 rocker treatment and who thinks they're original??

Also, if I want to change them can anyone speak to the deco trim kit from Pelican and how it measures up to original (Deco Trim Kit, Wide, 911/912 (1965-68))??

    Many thanks for any info,
    Al

Well, I can't answer for late 67S's having 68 deco. But I think that Porsche was getting better at changeovers than people give them credit for. An example...I owned the 2nd 69S targa built, and it was pure 69....and there were a lot of changes between 68 and 69.

My opinion would be to try to find the 67 deco, otherwise people will think you have a 68 car, OR will think you have the wrong deco. That would be my impression.

Regarding 67S deco...there isn't any available. No repro's. So you're stuck trying to find a used set, and that isn't easy. I know someone who actually bought a 67S to get the deco, and then resold the car afterward (sans deco).

    Thanks for the thoughts

So this begs the question a bit but is the '68 aluminum sill rocker deco available in repro, or are they just as NLA as the 67 wide rubber trim?

Another option would be to come up with my own style e.g. "rocker deco deletes".

    LOL

Good news is I'm okay on front and back bumpers.
