    Help With My Tangerine car

I was visiting my Track car at Jeff Gamroth's shop, what a great place to visit, a 959, Ford GT, wrecked Carrera Gt and....... The nicest early car I have ever seen, an Early car with front and rear flares and a 3.8, wow. The coolest thing I have ever seen. Look forward to seeing it in Sonoma.

That same day I had the opportunity to drive Jeff Smiths red rocket, Wow to say the least, it makes my 997 feel like a Honda. Every early Hot Rod needs a 3.8 and big brakes. The car is truly amazing.

I need your help, after Paul and the boys clouded the reputation of my pristine Tangerine hot rod I have decided to keep it. I am adding front and rear flares, big brakes and a 3.8.

I need the following: Front and Rear flares, front and rear fiberglass bumpers, a 3.6, Brembro's, and Turbo 16 inch rear wheels. If anyone has a line on any of these parts, please help. I am planning on starting the project after the Rgruppe event. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Thanks in advance for the help, Special thanks to Tom Wilkinson who foiled the sale of the car so I can continue it's transformation.

Turbo 9x16's w 245's (or 275 Hoosiers) won't nearly be enough tire for the car (hp). You may want to consider an 11x15 (for the cool factor) or 11x17's (2 or 3 pc. fuch centers) with either a 315 or 335. You would need to use a 930 caliper if you go with the 11x15's.

If the 11x17's will fit that seems like the way to go. Any help on finding a set of wheels?

If you are going to RSR flares, than 11" will work, but not with RS flares, where a 9-10" wheel is maxed out.

For clues on 11x17 Fuchs-style wheels you need to go to this page on Sherwoods site. Jack O. used Lindsey Racing for his wheels, which are machined from a 6x16" Fuchs core.

One other option which is missing from Sherwoods list is HRE wheels, who used to make a 3-piece, Fuchs-look wheel from a forged center of their own. I think they're still available but haven't checked lately.

I have found this website with good assortment of fiberglass bumpers, etc. I'm considering buying from them for my "long-term, reduce the size of/ remove the flares on my '66" project . Can anyone comment on quality of their parts?

    Thanks for the help

I think I am going to start with 7's and 8's but I will need Turbo Brakes. Any one with a set laying around?

Thanks again for all the help.

HRE doesn't make the Fuchs center wheels any longer. There are a few places that make a 3 pc wheel using Fuchs centers and BBS halves. I got mine from Bob Woodman Tires.
Steve @ Rennsport & VCI both makes a 930 brake kit to fit the early cars.
