    SD Solo2 Nat'l. Tour

Went down to Qualcomm this weekend for the SCCA National Tour event and ran into the PNW Gruppemeister himself, driving his wicked, white, Fordahl-prepared '72:

He hitched a ride with a few bro's in this rig:

Some of his stablemates (Porsches were not very well represented--Randy had the only early 911 out there, along with a '77, a Boxster, and a 944. This GT2 came 2nd in ASP and a GT3 was 4th in SS):

and the guy the rig belongs to, who ended up winning the ASP class:

Scotty B. White, of Naykid Racing.

If you're going to run in ASP, you don't want to bring a knife to a gunfight:

There was probably only about 4,000HP in that lineup.

Randy had his camera out with a lot better glass than I brought, hopefully he can post some higher quality pics.

Randy - is that a bulletproof shield on the back of the ducktail?

No, that GT2 on Ebay is Harry Rady's car that James Gunn-Wilkinson drove to a national championship this past year. With a starting bid of $119K, it looks like quite a bargain--the car is completely dialed in, as the description says, although "autocrossed 7-8 times" might be a little on the light side. The one in the pics above is from SF Bay area, driven by Chris Cox and Rob Boynton.

I don't think Randy had his best weekend ever. He was 4th in FP on Sat. and dropped to 5th on Sunday. Results are posted here.
