Only three Porsches entered at Le Mans

I scanned the entry list for Le Mans this year and found only three entered for the race. This seemed odd at first but after studying the rules and regulations put forth by the ACO, I found Porsches at a disadvantage, as we've seen at ALMS this season.
    Any comments?

Yes, disappointing. But the number of GT2 cars in general is lower than usual, isn't it? My understanding from some of the comments from White Lightning and Job at the end of 2006 was that the price of entry to run the 997 would be much higher. Is that the case and maybe that's the reason for fewer Porsches?

Tuning in a little late yesterday to Long Beach had me thinking the new 997 had made some progress, but the Ferraris were there at the end. Just a pit stop timing thing I guess.

But the RS Spyder is 1-2-3 overall!!

Disappointing. The 997 RSRs got killed by Ferrari at Monza today (Ferrari 1-2-3 in GT2)!

Also, Peugeot's new P1 Diesel won overall by 1 lap Although Audi weren't racing.
