    Green Hornet 356A 2.7 @ RM Amelia Island

    The 58 356A coupe with a 73 2.7 911 engine (Jim Newton built) sold at the RM auction at Amelia Island yesterday for 132.5k + 10% buyer's premium = 145k! Roger Warner's blue/red speedster went for 110+ BP and a Stoddard restoration glacier white (pale green) went for 130k + BP. A 959 with uncredited DOT conversion went for 280k + BP. A 356 B coupe and a 356 C coupe each in the forties. No early 911's.

    Craig Jackson is a genius. His move to promote "Resto Rods" is everywhere. I mean, $145K for that car is astonishing when you think about it. No racing significance. No provenance. "Re-engineered". Not even the buyer knows whether it will corner worth a damn. Stunning!
