    Definitely available

E., definitely available in '73, many RS's were ordered with the 'black headliner option', indicated as 'black roof liner'. There was no option # associated with it as far as I can tell, it was listed under 'miscellaneous options."

    Brochure number W38 e - 003 - 1170 - 0801

My printed in Germany edition November 1970 Prices for options does not state the black headliner as a option.

This little booklet has the M codes, then article description, then model T,E,S, available with the price. Then not in conjunction with M code#.

I think the price is in Deutsch marks, although everything is printed in English it states that the prices quoted include German sales tax of presently 11% to be refunded upon proper exportation.

    example.

    M-No. Article 911T 911E 911S not in con.w

M409 Competition Seats, Left and Right. 222, 222, Standard, 405-408

I hope this helps, at least it is interesting.

    Cheers

Eric, I have a feeling that option #469 is for later cars.

I had the black roof liner in RS 830 which also had all black visors to match. I have not seen it on any earlier cars.

My 70E has a black headliner, looks original to me, although front and rear window rubber has been replaced. The headliner is old material. It is not listed as an option on the COA.

I've got the black headliner in my 71 but it was installed by P.O. I like it a lot more than the white ones and it doesn't show any watermarks, dirt or any other crap that's associated with the white ones. I know this doesn't help your question but oh well.
