What size and model tires are you RS guys using as Replacements?

Just as stated what tires are you using?
I am looking for new tires for the RS Clone I just bought and I'm having difficult time making a selection. There are not many staggered choices available. Maybe I should be looking for a different size.
    I'm looking at:

205/50/15 for the fronts on 15x7
225/50/15 for the rear on 15x8

The best reccomendation a tirerack sales person had was a BF Goodrich tire, which I am not in love with.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Those sizes would look great, but you may want to have a different aspect ratio to keep the overall diameter the same as well as the visual sidewall height - like 205/60/15 and 225/55/15.
There's a chart on the Tire Rack site I believe that will calculate OAD.

Don't go too thin on the sidewalls, early cars just don't look right with 50 series tires IMO (225 width may be excepted). Although they obviously will make the car handle better.

I have 205/55 on front in 15x7 and 225/50 15x8 on rear using Bridgestone G3. Love them.

    Tires

Same tire size as Clyde, only Bridgestone Potenza S-03 on my RS. Great tire in the rain!

    Vinny,
205/50 is too small in the front unless it's for the track. I run 225/50's on 7's in the front and they fit fine. On the rear 225/50's (on 8's) also work...but don't rule out 245/50's on 8's. My rear flares are a little wider than stock but I run these tires and wheels (with spacers too)...and they fit fine. (See my yellow car on the into to the S registry web-site...and maybe this look will work for you.)

This is the size I have on my RS for all the reasons Jared mentions. I have 7s and 8s.

    RS tires

I have seen all sizes come in from 195/50 to 235/60. The closest to the stock size (185/70 & 215/60) is 195/65 & 215/60. Until this month we put on Pirelli P6000, but this month there are no longer listed. The next alt is 205/60 & 215/60 that Yokohama lists. The next sizes that we put on are 205/55 & 225/50 ( at 1" shorter they are usually used for track use, but good for street if you can handle the lower ratio) many companys list these. BFG, Brig, Kuhmo, Mich, and Yoko to name a few. These are all from Tire rack, but you can use the sizes to look at other sources. The one set up that is fun and beefy looking is Dunlop 245/50 & 225/50. we usually put these on ST type conversions but also some RSs. You must check alignment and height specs because of the stagger in diameter. Buy them while you can because they are going away one at a time. I have been watching these monthly lists since CN36s were still available. I tell everyone to buy the tires as soon as you find them because they may be gone next month.

    Man, Harvey's right...

As I said before... If it wern't for the lack of 'ultra-performance' street tires in the size... I'd still be on 205x60 and 215x60's to this day...

I can't deney the performance of my S03's in 205x55 and 225x50... but do I miss the ride and look of my 60's.......... plus the speedo is dead nuts on with a later-early car on 215x60's

Here's a 6 year old profile pic on the old 60's

    Cheers,

195/65/15 or 205/60/15 for the front

    215/60/15 in the rear.

This combo looks great to me.....I like the fat tire look.
