    History Porsche Tr #11800988

General HISTORY,ONLY 3 911S were imported into the USA in 1968,and all were used for racing purposes.#0988 was sold new to Montreal Porsche dealer "Auto Hamer"with various racing items listed listed in the factory manifest.

Early history;the first owner competed in club racing at "le Circuit Mt. Tremblant",St. Jovite.
In the early 70's, famous multi-year Quebec champion Jacques Beinvenue purchased the car and won the Canadian Endurance championship with the car in 1976,77,and 78. He also ran the car in several Trans-Am races in under two litre class. After that Jacques switched to the ex-Bytzek RSR and the 911TR continuedits club career with two Quebec Provinve owners

Recent history; Noted Quebec Porsche restorer Jacques Rivard tracked down and purchased #0988 in Monteral in 1988. After a two year frame up restoration which included the reinstallation of a genuine factory 220 HP "R" TWO LITRE ENGINE AND THE VERY LAST BIG TANK IN THE FACTORY race dept.Rivard was invited to display the car in the factory race car display at the 1991 PCA BOSTON PARADE. Car is now in its original "ossi"blue with white trim as raced by Beinvenue
the car was sold into a large collection of Porsches and Ferrari's were the car remained for over ten years, now still in concours condition it is back to life SOON TO BE SEEN AGAIN

    68 911s

Frank, Nice car with interesting history.

I am lucky enough to also own a 68 911S # 1180561 from Montreal. Mine is a plain jane street version which was delivered to SonAuto Porsche in Paris and ended up in Montreal. Great cars and I enjoy mine when weather permits.
