east coast porschepollooza or how i learned to love the car and get some chilli

As a gathering/drive , now that spring is upon us, i had made a suggestion on another thread.
Basically, the idea, for NJ/NY/CT people would be to convene at Port Jervis or somewhere on I-84 +
    got to Port Jervis +
    head up Rt-97 +
    through Hawk's Nest + past shohola + minisink + cochecton etc +
    up to Callicoon.

At Callicoon there is a nice place with good chilli, crabcakes, and many other tasty dishes, called Mathews on Main.

I figured a Saturday or Sunday, such as April 1st or 2nd?
    Any takers?
Weather should be ok and hopefully will warm up a little.

Port Jervis is relatively easy to get to if Rt-97 as a drive interests people (it does me, as I am familiar with the road ... a fair share of bikers also drive along there).

From Callicoon, one could return or head across to Jeffersonville and back onto Rt 17, by Monticello which leads back to I-87 and I-84 etc.

    Here is the hawks nest
    and here again

Any takers? Suggestions welcome as to dates/meeting places etc

Great Lewis, that make 3 people if we make it the 1st which is a Saturday.
Now we need a few more, to make a quorum

I believe that there is a parking spot in I-84 going westward between exit 2 and exit 1 , about one mile west of exit 2, and this could be a meeting up point.

    Well Steven, we have
accuweather which says Variable cloudiness; breezy with a shower or thunderstorm,High Temperature:62° F

and is the most optimistic, while

    NOAA
says: Showers likely before 10am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10am and 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Southwest wind between 6 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

and there is even a Fire Danger warning for tomorrow there due to excessive dry conditions and no rain for the last 2 weeks !!! and today being fabulous!!

Just our luck. and remember that I have a targa I need sunshine

Why don't we wait until tomorrow to get a better idea, but at the moment it looks "iffy"?

    Thanks,

    Karl

    Postpone?

I believe we are rained out .... even accuweather concedes rain, and it was always the most optimistic of forecasters ...

If everyone concurs, can we start proposing another date.
Personally i am unavailable, Sunday, and i know that some others are as well.

Following weekend ... 2 weeks is Easter weekend ... 3 weeks time?
