    Cornpanzer - I Smell a Challenge!!!

Wondering why anyone would do this... but it's crazy enough to get into a national show and the magazines. Dave, are the VW drags going on again during Taj? I want to see your Beetle lined up next to this thing on the strip!

From Autoweek's coverage of Autorama 2006:
Ron Patrick added a GE jet engine to this Beetle over 3 years in his home garage. The original engine and transmission is still intact, so it remains street legal as long as the jet is off.

    Right Here

    I want one!

I wonder what the weight distribution is?

Chain the beast to the starting line with a quick release, bring it up on thrust, and then pull the R-I-I-I-P cord.

    "naught to 60!"

So where is the intake for the engine? Hopefully he is strapped in and has the windows down when he fires that thing up, otherwise it would probably suck them and most of the interior through the engine. That thing is a "Darwin Award" in the making!
