Rear quarter window rubber moulding fitting ?

I am having a real hard time getting a piece of the rubber moulding seated in the window frame edge. I have tried working it from both sides and everything else I can think of. Is there some trick or method someone knows to get these on. The channel in the rubber that fits the inside of the frame is very narrow and I can't get it over the frame edge. It looks like it would just stretch over the edge, but it doesn't.
    Help!
    Thanks

The only way I have ever found it possible to fit the rear quarter window rubber easily is by using rubber grease in large amounts, otherwise its next to near impossible to get it in the correct position.

I found that I had to lube the rubber and slide it into the channel of the leading edge of the quarter window, really bending back the corner of the rubber in order to get it started, then the rest of the perimeter was easy to push in. The leading edge just will not push into the channel. Good luck

    Clyde and "EsGeht",
What kind of grease did you use? Did you use a petroleum based grease or some kind of dry lubricant?
    Thanks for the help!

These things are a bite in the pants to say the least. I recommend several Warsteiners chilled to 43 degrees. Any colder and you will insult the Germans. Seriously use any greese but no WD-40 everything will slide in and out. Be prepared for lots of paper style cuts that feel great when mixed with lube. That's where the beer will save you.

Liquid dish soap has always done the trick for me and leaves my hands oh so soft.

Thanks a bunch for the helpful replies. These moulding are sure tough to deal with, but grease did the trick. My only concern is that they might be prone to slip out of place with the grease in the grooves. The liquid soap sound like a good idea beacuse the lubricant would dry out leaving the rubber with good gripping properties on the metal frame.
    thanks again.
