    Correct 1969 Toolkit

I've never seen a 1969 tool kit posted for reference, so I want to add this pic from the "Copson" car. It looks like it has the correct elephant hide bag; does everything else look correct? My supposed "original" bag I bought for my '69S is basketweave, so I am always interested when I see the "correct" bag.

I'll add that I think the kit looks correct to me, except, I haven't seen the air pressure guage in this kit before. Alos, I don't recognize the tool at the bottom right that ha the knurled screw in the top. I don't recall a flare being standard issue either...

So it obviously wouldn't be there for non-equipped cars. Cool!

I think I have a 69 bag to trade for the basketweave bag.

He is missing the Pliers and the plastic pouch for the tire gauge.

The flare is not supposed to be in the kit.

I recently acquired a tool kit for my 69S and was unsure if the bag was correct but its the same as the pic so now I am very happy. No air gauge in mine either but there is a packet of fuses in a plastic slide arrangement

I've owned 4 69S's (I was 2nd owner on one of them, 4th on another)....all had a smooth "naugahyde" bag with a "tan" interior (not putty...). Also have seen 2 other 69's...one a 912, and the other a T, and they also had the same bag I just described. Another 69 owner with a very late production car has a basketweave bag that he has every reason to believe is original to the car. Scott Emsley and I discussed this particular bag in the above pic at the last lit meet, and we both concur that it's 69 and very possibly 68 as well.

Note that some Messko's have (documented) leather bags, not the light grey plastic. Leather bag is a very light weight pigskin in burgundy.

I've never seen a Messko in a 69 or later toolkit...only 68 and earlier, but from memory the factory parts manual still has it for 69.

    just my .02

Good to get the OK on the bag from the "masters of tool kits" Scott and yourself.
