    WTB: Porsche Horn Button (not momo, not butterfly style)

    Hi Bob,
    For what it' worth, the leather Porsche embossed horn button and chrome
    ring were the exact same on the mushroom type as on the butterfly so dont limit your search mushroom style only.
    I found a nice leather horn button on a mushroom type and transplanted it to my butterfly button 4 years ago. They are the exact same. It is delicate surgery but very doable. The chrome ring has tabs on the back side which need to bent out and then bent back in (a big PITA). Once I had mine apart, I had the ring rechromed. Afterwards, I can say that mine is the nicest one I have ever seen. Mushrooms and butterflies can be found in EBay all day. And rings can be rechromed. The tough thing is finding a really nice Porche embossed leather button.

    At the LA All Euro swap meet I picked up a vinyl repro of the leather horn button center "fabric" from Dave Aase....
