The new kid in town! (Midwest R Gruppe)

Alan Brody drove his Emery prepared 69 S up to my house so that I could see it this afternoon. Some of you may have seen the car at RGruppe 05, but it has only been home for a couple weeks now.
Got to spend enough time behind the wheel that I got a bit of a sunburn I have never been an open car guy, but I think I could learn to like it quickly.
This car has many cool little tricks.
Now we have to figure out how to convince Alan to blow off his work and family and come on the cross-country R Gruppe trip in a few weeks!

    Curt,
The Targa bar is a bolt-in deal. Pretty cool!

Wow, that is wild. Does it have a hard rear window or is it a softie? Guess we will at least see it at the Taj if not sooner.

I shot so many pics of this car in Monterey 05 because there are just so many cool things on it. I mean I took a butload of detailed pics that once I got home I realized that I didn't take any full shots...duh!

Sure looks different than when I owned it! The detail work is incredible on the car...I watched it progress from a Polo Red targa to the car you now see.

We won't discuss how much I sold it for a few years ago...with original engine, deep 6's etc

IMO, these are the cars I look at to steal ideas from. I was noting some of the usual detail like fit and finish then looking more closely at R decklid hinges and mounting, R style grill and mounting, seat choice, steering wheel choice, ribbed home depot floor mats, short shifter mounted above carpet, center fill tank, finish on fas cap, etc. I think the Emory camp builds the nicest "period correct" outlaws.
