    New speaker question

How do I remove the dash speaker cover? I tried to carefully leaver it out with a piece of plastic but I stopped as I was afraid to scratch the dash. The previous owner had installed a modern cd system, but luckily the original radio came with the car. The modern speaker was placed in the foot well pocket and not the door pockets. I want to remove these modern speakers and hook up the original speaker. Buy the way there is no antenna on the front fender? Was the antenna always placed on the front fender? Maybe some previous owner has welded the antenna hole.

Fish something like a coat hanger through a hole and back out another hole several inches away. Then pull up on it. Or you could try to pull up at each corner. Wrap the end with tape. I can't remember if there is a way to get to the grille from the trunk compartment to push up... I don't think there is.

I just placed a rag around the tip of a wide screwdriver & pryed up...the pegs holding the cover in are near the corners.

    Paul,

Thanks! I have wanted to get behind my speaker grill to close the hole where the speaker used to be and was hesitant to just pry it out. Thanks for the details.

2 minutes and voila! Problem solved.
