Something different for the sports steering wheel afficionados

    This just arrived today.

360mm (14 1/4") O.D. sports steering wheel circa early 70's. The wheel was made by an Australian aftermarket company: SAAS, who are still around today.

I've just given it a light clean and its in great shape. No tears, complete stitching. The rim is about 25mm (1") think and it has dish of about 75mm (3") - which I like.

I bought a project-ish/parts-ish car a little while back which has an early 911 SAAS boss and Porsche crested horn button - but tiny crappy wheel.

I think this will look good in my early 911. I was about to buy a Prototipo but like the fact that this is unusual, is an Aussie period correct piece (and only cost 50 bucks!)

I think the 4 tapering holes in the arms are a nice detail. What do you think?

    Thumbs up

    I love it Ryan...

Plus... I could see one or two of those holes filled with a competition kill button and/or a rally light button ...

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.
