    Tweeks Dropping Porsche Parts

Maybe old news, Tweeks/MidAmerica Motorwerks is clearancing out all of their Porsche parts and will not be re-stocking.

Did you get a letter? The web site is not that specific.

I see that MidAmerica is still the main sponsor on the PCA site - maybe for those members who also own Corvettes ?

Well I called and was going to order a few parts. The order-taker said, "I'll tell ya right now we're probably not going to have much of this stuff in stock". He was right, they had nothing I wanted to order. I asked if they were getting out of the Porsche parts business. He said, not officially yet, but we won't be restocking anything. He said to keep an eye on their website for clearance deals.

Wow. Tweeks was a part of Porsche history. Sad.

I find that there are other vendors that are much better then Tweeks. Maybe I got into this too late to appreciate Tweeks but I won't miss them.

The only reason I even called is because they are only 1 state away and I needed something quick. I normally use Stoddard or Pelican. Stoddard was out and Pelican takes at least 5-6 days to get here. And don't even think about ordering 2- or 3-day express shipping from Pelican. I recently placed an order for brake rotors and pads. Normal shipping was "free" for some reason. 2-day express? $270. 3-Day? $200. I still can't figure it out. Maybe Wayne drives the stuff to your house himself for those prices.

Indeed. From back in the day when I sent them a large chunk of my high school era income to maintain my '70 B.

Marion Weber was ahead of her time, and put out a great catalog to boot.

As to Tweeks, I'm not surprised, if in fact its true. I don't think that I've bought a thing from them since Yager and the Corvette guys bought them and dropped the Tweeks name years ago.
