I think these sold already. Possible EBAY scam. Just a heads up.

Interesting....in the text it says there is a buy it now...none shown in the bid area...new ebayer in Midland MI and wheels are in UK....hum-m-m

Interesting ... I'm 10 minutes from Midland. I don't know anybody there with an early car, much less a hotrod early car.
What makes you think one has to own an early 911 to have some 911R wheels?
The wheels look real to me.
If the auction had a BIN price, that disappears once someone places a bid below the BIN price. Too bad, $1650 is a bargain, if this is not a scam.
Compare the auction in the link posted above to this one that ended last month:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
The title and pics are identical. The description is also copied. There's nothing against eBay rules against plagiarising a description or title. Not sure about a pic. Quite a coincidence that shipping from Germany to the USA is the same as it is from the UK.
I sent the winner of the auction last month asking if he has the wheels and if this new auction is a scam.
That was quick. The auction has been canceled by eBay and the scammer terminated.
Here's another R wheel auction on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW
However, I don't think it is a scam, more like ignorance on the seller's part. The wheels are clearly 14" in the pics. The part number is wrong too. Perhaps the wrong pic and # was put in the auction. The pic is the same one used in his auction for a set of 14" fuchs here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW
The seller has been informed.
That one is very suspect as well.
The sellers feedback is all for purchasing clothing on ebay, now all of a sudden they decide to sell 2 sets of Porsche wheels, including 1 very rare set?
I'm betting its an id hijack.

I have received a reply from the seller. Not only is he ignorant, he's stupid as well. Here's his reply to my message informing him of the mistake:
"I am running 2 auctions I do not know what your are talking about so please do not e-mail me with nonsense."
Maybe it is a hijacked account.
I'll let eBay sort this out.
