I'm on it, Dave! My letter will go out in the morning. Wish we could get such a facility in San Diego County.

I understand there is a shopping mall and/or housing on or near the original track. I'm assuming this is in a completely different location?? There was a LONG thread on TNF regarding Riverside and an attempt to build some sort of memorial or museum on the original site.

yes- the original has been "malled" and finally now after all the years the track has been closed it looks like they are developing the rest of the property

This isn't a NASCAR thing is it? International Speedway Corporation is trying to build one of those up here and they want the taxpayers to foot the bill for construction. I will always vote against gov't subisidizing big $$$ corporation's huge profits with zero downside risk.

no no no- this has nothing to do with nascar. the ceo is a full on road racer (with his seeds from racing on mulholland drive !) They have the money already (when was the last time you heard that from a potential new track?!?)
They just need as much support as possible from the public (and that includes out of staters too- hey, isn't the new track the reason for your upcoming future vacation to california?)
    thanks!
