    rev counter

    Hi

How do I get the rev counter out of the dash? It is slightly turned clockwise with the redline at 12 o’clock and I wont it to be in the correct position. I tried to pull it out but it seems to be stuck.

In my '71 the tacho is only held in by the rubber seal surrounding it, & so with some "gentle persuasion" can be pulled straight out, (or just rotated in situ).

The 1st time I did it I do recall it toook a bit more grunt than I'd anticipated - but I maight have been a bit tentative in not wanting to damage it.

If it won't budge try the speedo or temp/press on either side. Maybe you will have better luck if you can get a hand behind it. I had to work in series from the clock once.
