    MFI Pre-Heater Hoses Routing

    Greetings all,

I've replaced my hole-y MFI pre-heater hose with a correct inner/outer hose setup. The problem I'm having is that there isn't much room to run the hose to the engine tin. The hose used to run on top of that air intake flapper box (for lack of a better term), but since my 72T has A/C, the condenser under the engine decklid crushed the old hose leaving a bunch of holes in it.

When I first got the car, the air intake was connected to the "flapper box" but my mechanic told me that it really wasn't necessary considering how warm the air is in Miami, so he disconnected it.

I've attached a pic of what I'm trying to do, which is run the MFI hoses through the flapper box (with the flap depressed, of course).

Am I asking for trouble by doing this? Or is it OK considering the box isn't actually used anymore?

Any comments are more than welcome, thanks everyone.

    Jorge

    Jorge,

Just a thought but... seeing you have the air cleaner to flapper hose disconnected... why don't you take the flapper off as well. Then there'll be no trouble routing the pre-heater hose...

In your climate you don't need the flapper - plus it's deletion makes for a pretty clean look ...

    Again, just a thought

    Cheers,
