Thread: Euro Sport Muffler

    Euro Sport Muffler

Has anyone converted a two in, one out standard muffler to the two in, two out version with the end pipe removed? If so, how long should the pipes be? I'm about to try this based on an article in the Up-Fixen vol 4, pg 25. They suggest 6" but the article was done in '74 and there was no dyno test for accuracy at that time. Any info and pics would be appreciated as well as a suggestion for a rattle-can grey coating that's readily available. Thanks.

    Hi Paul,

I had Mark Kenninger at Black Forest in San Diego convert my muffler to a sport. He did a great job - the pipes are 10" x 2" dia.

Talk to Mark, I'm sure he would be more than happy to help you out.

    Paul,

I like to switch from stock to sport and back again depending on how much spirited driving I do, so as each muffler comes off the car I apply a fresh coat of rattle can flat gray - VHT supplies a decent product, mail order from Perfomance Products makes it easy. Good luck with the project.

Andy, how do you rate the sound and does your seat of the pants dynanometer feel stronger than stock?

    Hi Paul,

I love the sound of the sport, it's a bit louder but it creates a great rasp and when driving through tunnels or next to canyon walls I can hear it really well - quite exhilerating! As far as seat of the pants dynanometer - it feels like maybe a 10+% increase in the mid to high rpm range.
