Tell me about Yokohama AVS ES100 tires

I know they perform, but do they look right on a 1971 car, lowered? Application is just back road warrior stuff. The sidewall seems a bit right angle to me and of course the tread isnt vintage 1970s. Ive considered the Dunlop Sport S01A, the Pirelli P6000 are at the end of their manufacturing life. Anybody got any pics in 195X60X15 on an early car?

    Zed,
I'm running 205/60/15 Yoko AVS ES100 in the front on Deep6,
215/60/15 rear on Weidman 7R wheels. I know you want pics of 195/60/15
but this will give you a general idea of the look & profile of the tire on a
    lowered car.

    Good views

Chuck, I had seen that thread when I researched the archives, and noted your comment on the precursor tire.
Thanks also Chris, that's just what I wanted to see. How do you use them, track? What do you think of them in different driving conditions?

I have 15x7s in front and 15x8s in the rear running 205/55s and 225/55s in the ES100. They are a really nice street tire: they don't pull, don't track ruts, don't hydroplane, etc. They are very progressive on tail slides and have great wear characteristics, too. For a street car that sees regular use, I highly recommnend them.

    Zed,
I have less than 50 miles on these tires, not much of a report, but so far
they are great, nice cornering, smooth, not loud (as some have complained).
I bought them for all the reasons Kenik stated. I had Dunlops on prior, frightning under hard cornering!
Should have a better report for you by Monday evening, 800 mile trip

    Don't you mean 225/50s?

Last year I put 215/60/15 ES100s on the rear of my car. They are great. When my current fronts are gone, it will get ES100s

    Zed,

I have both Yoko AVE ES 100 & BFG G-Force Sports in the 206X60X15.

I think I like the BFG's better, as the Yoko's are a little squirmy before they are heat cycled!!

Yep; had a reminder of this this morning. Nothing to get worried about, but I did have some wiggles getting on it on the long sweeping on ramp to I-90.
