    Saw some neat cars yesterday

Went to the Mercedes dealer and saw a couple of Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren's, a Maybach 57S and a Lotus Exige. Just looked at them, way beyond my means. The coolest was the Exige which somebody drove up in to look at a new S500. Funny watching the guy get out of the Lotus which is about the size of a go cart with a body on it. I looked at a Lotus 23 John Player Special that was for sale back in the 70's and my 75 inches couldn't get in it. Seems like little has changed at Lotus land.

Next time you want to see "neat" cars? Go to a hot rod cruise in, check out the 1940 Fords...

Whats that behind that black 40. Don't know if its coming or going. Your right Sit. I get to a local hotrod show once a month in the summer. This year I'll take my 65 F100. 352 and 3 on the tree.

We're definitely lucky out here in CA. A buddy and I cruised his '28 Lakes Modified down the Sunset in December ... we got more attention than the guys in the Lambos and Ferraris

Wilywilly - the car behind was (at one time) a Studebaker. People do strange things to them sometimes, but the bullet noses are always cool. At the big summer GoodGuys west coast nationals show the cutoff year for entry is 1948, but they make an exception for the Studebakers which came along a couple of years later.

Thanks for the pics guys...my dad had a '40 deluxe sedan..2 doors. It was used as a hunting/fishing car back in the day, keeping his Buicks nice. One day, I came home from high school, my freshman year. The '40 was gone. Dad had sold it for $50 because the engine was bad. I cried that night. Yeah, I had plans...but at my age then, it was probably just as well that dad sold it.
