What I'd like to know if they are 67s or 68s. There is enough material missing on the pass side to see if it has the headrest supports. If they are 67s then I know of a few people that would gladly pay the price. Thanks to my previous owner I don't need a set but the way the market has been these may be a worth while investment.

These seats were on The samba. I missed them by about a hour. The price was less than $1000. They would be great core seats.

I noticed that at $1999 there were 0 bids. Seems the market does not agree with the seller's valuation. Cheeky b*gger!

No comment on the value but I do like the comment about "very rarely come on the market in this condition".

Thats true. Not many burnt seats on the market.....

$2 grand for early seats and then $2grand to completely redo at Tony's place seems like market to get new seats. I would be afraid of the fire damage done to the metal and could it cause failure in event of accident?

They didn't see enough heat to cause a worry about metal fatigue otherwise the coverings and foam would be entirely gone. I'd worry more about rust during storage since the they were pulled out. The fire could have been long ago.

Since they have the early tilt brackets too...I think they are definitely worth the money.

There's a few places that reproduce the RS style seats that don't hinge forward. Are there any companies that reproduce these sport seats?

Seems like if these seats are worth $1-2,000 each, these companies should be stepping up.

Early Sport seat prices have been "officially O.o.C. for quite some time now....several years now...at least?

IMHO....When I clicked on the link just to see....I didn't know if I should bust out laughing, or feel sad for whom ever it is actually buys them.

Again, IMHO....and I am not trying to offend anyone or start anything, but let's be honest here.......those seats are p.o.s. and way beyond saving to all except the few somewhat "excentric" amongst us. Only a very small persentage of early 911 owners have the extra $$$ needed to a.) buy them "as is"...and then.... b.) have them completely rebuilt to satisfactory standards. But then just like a car is branded when in a fire, now you have seats that "were in a fire"..no?...little bit of a "reputation" is now attached to them and you've spent how much $$$..?

Maybe to those "few" it's all worth it and a gem of a find ...but for me and probably a lot of other's, a nice set of repro sport seats from GTS or Vintage Seats works just fine. Of course I'm not a concour or restorer type 911 guy either.

Good luck and best wishes to whom ever buys them.

    ..Just my .02, that's all
