Regarding 911RS chassis 1571 for sale in France/Switzerland:

First of all merry christmas to all of you!

Last week i went to Switzerland to inspect the RS for sale on mobile.de for 155.000 Euro.
I some of you are interested in this car, you are welcome to contact me before going on a long journey.
From pictures the car looks stunning, but it is very far from factory specs, and extensive bodywork has been done to the car.
What concerns me the most is the grinding marks and odd edges and paint just around the VIN number, which makes me doubt the authenticity of the car.
It is GP white like on the color plate, but it was born light green. Nowhere what so ever could i find hints of green, not even behind the dash, just white.
Of course checking the VIN vs. production number, and removing the fuel tank for inspection for welds should solve the discrepancy.

    '73 rs . . .

    . . . at 2 Shores:

    Irish green on black

    VIN = 9113600856
    Eng# = 6630820
    Trans# = 7830828
    Mileage = 38k km

Original Touring car with complete history. Delivered new in Germany, it sold in 1978 to the second German owner, who stored the car until 1985 without driving it. 1989 sold to the US to the third owner and 1993 to its 4th and current owner.

Only 7000 miles on a complete engine rebuilt (2.9l).

This is a numbers matching and nicely documented Carrera RS. Rare sunroof and el. windows per Kardex! New Irish-green paint in 1994 (original color yellow) on pristine rust-and accident-free body. The current owner slightly modified the car to his personal preference with a roll bar, sport seats, sport steering wheel and lightweight door panels. The car is set up for light sport events, but was never used as such after the restoration. All modifications are easily returned to stock configuration.

This is a rare offer of a fully documented and very well kept RS with matching numbers from a long term ownership with extensive records.

    Asking: $255k

    (Not mine)

Thanks for the heads up on this auction. For the record it is RS 856. I was able to inspect this car several weeks ago and even though it is a color change and modified from original the car is very straight and most of the unique parts are there. This would be a blast to drive as is for a time and then restore later on.

    "Carrera RS #0856.

This is a genuine Carrera RS with all numbers matching. This Carrera has had 4 owners from new, the history of the car is 100% documented.
Sold new in Germany to the first owner in 1973. Sold to the second owner in Germany in 1978 and being taken off the road until 1985.
The car was then fully restored (documents and photos available) and it's exterior color was changed from yellow to irish green.
The car was sold in 1989 to it's 3rd owner and imported to the US. This owner sold the car to it's current and 4th owner in 1993, who has kept it ever since.

The documentation on the car is complete and very extensive.
This is a factory Touring car which has been lightly modified by it's current owner. The modifications include sport seats, sport steering wheel, lightweight doorpanels and a bolted in(not welded) roll bar.

Even though it may appear that way, this RS has never seen serious track time. The body is without any indication of accidents or abuse and the interior is in perfect condition.
The engine has been completly rebuilt by a professional Porsche specialist and has run only 7000 miles since. The paint was redone in 1994 and still looks perfect with only the most minimal signs of wear. All paperwork on the work is available.

This is one of very few Carrera RS cars that have not changed hands 20 times in the past 10 years. The complete and documented 4 owner history and the perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition make this RS a rare find in today's world of collector cars. This is a true RS with no stories attached. The modifications to the car are easily returned to stock configuration. A rare sunroof RS Coupe with electric windows!"

    "Year 1973

    Make Porsche

    Model 911 Carrera RS 2.7

    Type M472 Touring

    Chassis 911 360 0574

    Engine 663 0579

    Engine Type 911/83

    G-box 783 0563

    Gearbox Type 915

Color 131312 Bahia Red (one of only 42 completed in this color) with Black Carrera Graphics (now Gold)

    Interior Standard cloth vinyl black

This was the 574th sequential example of 1580 completed. The 74th car of the series two production vehicles..

This was a normal "M472" or "Touring" model and it was completed in February of 1973.

This Porsche was sold for new for export to Italy and delivered to the Italian Porsche distributor new (waxed) where it was sold and registered for normal road use by the first owner.

This car was factory built with several options, two of which are recorded on the original Porsche KARDEX:

    M220 Limited Slip Differential

M409 Sport Seats Left and Right

It was additionally fitted with Seat belts left and right, both front and rear, headrests, left and right and power windows, left and right (from factory as noted in the RS registry). A Porsche "Authenticity / Heritage" document has been ordered and printed and will be with us in several days.

Earlier today, I completed a very thorough and comprehensive inspection and lengthy road-test with this Porsche. It was simply fantastic with excellent performance, handling and braking. I could fault it mechanically for nothing. It was in fact one of the best driving and best performing examples I have encountered.

There are no signs of accident damage or corrosion anywhere that we could find.

Our shop performed a full compression check on the engine when cold. All compression numbers were even and within normal tolerances.

This car has the most perfect set of tools and jack that I haver ever encountered. They are impossibly perfect and worth a small fortune. The car also has a correct dated coded spare tire."
