Seems like that. Buyer is on another forum and has bought it thinking he's maybe bought a cheap car "if I have to spend £100k" to get it right. Don't see that logic myself as for it to be right you have to wind back time.

. . . Restored by the skilled craftsmen at the Porsche factory in Stuttgart, its archetypal bodywork is adorned in POR 908 Grand Prix White with blue accents. Exported to the United States by its third owner in 1983, its five-owner history, documented since new, includes 20 years of care by its current owner. This Carrera RS 2.7 was formerly owned by Kevin Buckler, a 24 Hours of Le Mans class-winning driver, who also scored class wins four times at the 24 Hours of Daytona and is a successful entrepreneur. The car is offered with full documentation that includes the all-important Porsche Factory restoration invoices and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity . . .'

Asking £795k about 1.1m United States Dollars from franchised dealer. One of the little over 100 RHD RS made for model year 73 apparently.

From offline discussion I think others may know this M472 RS vin number and be aware of its history. Being an approved Porsche dealer unsurprisingly there appears to be one data point that is misleading — which is impressive going given the scant listing description but probably is about par for Porsche knowledge and its attention to detail in documenting things about its historic cars given its record on COAs etc .

    Not mine no affiliation.
