According to my database that is #1044. I dont have anything in my files for it except that I had a note against that vin from 2010 that it was "destroyed?". I dont have a record of where that information came from. Obviously not the case ?

    Hi Hugh,

I have nothing on 1044, only that 1040 was destroyed and that the engine was for sale in Germany 2017. Could be a typo from my side. Lutziger mentions that it was build (or licensed?) May 73, then 1044 seems a bit too early? Haven't got the book with me.. I might can contact Lutziger.

    Regards,
    Cees

In my excel spreadsheet, which has all the data from the RS books in it, 1044 is the only one that matches it perfectly - picks up every option when i did a reverse search
I could have made a mistake back when i recorded 1044 as destroyed if you have 1040 as destroyed although I did that in 2010 not 2017 but the reason for the comment could have been similar

A Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is an absolute icon in the history of Porsche and represents the pinnacle of the 911 F-Series. A detailed description of the qualities and capabilities of this sports car is unnecessary for the real car enthusiast.

This Carrera RS 2.7 was ordered as a “Touring” and includes the Porsche optional equipment listed above, which combines the legendary performance of the RS with just the right dose of comfort.

The full restoration was completed professionally to the very highest level and is documented in full detail in a comprehensive photo book. Since 2007, after the completion of this extensive restoration, this Carrera RS has been driven only around 20’000 kilometres. Recent vehicle certificates still confirm the exceptional condition of this extremely rare and highly sought-after 911 today.
