As some may know there are fakes/repros out there- Do you know how to tell?? page 9 is different! mine is real and perfect- here is a look at page 9 if you want to authenticate yours. The factory made errors and cut pasted to correct.
Yes, we know.
http://wwww.early911sregistry.org/fo...ement-question
Actually the reason for the pasted in section wasn't due to errors. The photo of the RS on page 3 and material on page 9 originally applied to the RSH, then later was revised for the RS and RST. Here is quote from the book, Carrera RS: "The only differences among the various printings were the illustration on page three and the techincal specifications, which at first applied to the homologaton version and later described the Sports and Touring models".

Chassis 975 (Coys lot 425)
Sold for 427 500 £, most likely hammer price + Coys fee
The Carrera RS #0188 was in our shop in Holland somewere around 1990
This one was bought by our client in Austria or Switserland and transported.
Was in bad shape, build to G-model and Turbo specs in grey color, inside still tangarine/orange
Car was striped down and be painted to original color
Naked repainted body with correct bodypanels was kept in our storage for many years, never completed because market was very low at that time
Then being sold to France around 1997/1998 by the owner
We still have the alu Vin tag, tried to contact the curent owner by the CarreraRS register but doens't respond on several mails from the owner of the register.
Someone knows were this is on this moment or knows the current owner?

I have a record of the car for sale at Essen in March 2008. It did not sell there and was at Automobilia in Paris for sale in August 2008. I dont have any record since. At that time it was registered in France as 737 ALM 67. I have one photo of it with the "matching engine" case sitting in the passenger footwell
The sellers copy from the time it was for sale at Essen makes interesting reading in light of the post above.
This is what it said
" True PORSCHE 911 RS 2.7 - 1973 - Touring 1 - Orange - black leather - Matching Numbers with Porsche certificate.
Bodywork ungeschweisst, accident free, no rust, never. Complete restoration in 2004 / 2005 with RS only original parts, engine completely rebuilt with new crankshaft, new pistons, new valves, etc. .., completely rebuilt gearbox, chassis completely new. Karroserie completely cleaned, repainted in the original color. Recaro seats completely restored and newly obtained in leather and all seats, door trim and other over the course. New carpet. Rare wheels in 7 and 8 inches assembled, are about 6 inches, unmounted but restored. Einspitzpumpe restored and set at Bosch. Porsche engine at Stuttgart. All invoices. 6,000 Miles driven since restoration. H-plates and TÜV. Country of origin Austria then France. More pictures at 356speed.com. Issued on the techno-Classica in Essen, 26 Until 29.03.2008, Hall 9.1, Booth 65T. NOTE: We reserve the display each time stopen / delete, car Oltimer is also in the market. Further questions at 07851 / 1501. Watch for date possible, even desirable.
I give no chassis number, and even less engine and gearbox number. It is a true 911 SC 2.7 RS. The car was delivered after Austria (first admission löiegen paper as a copy before, and then in 1990 sold to Belgium. Thereafter no trace to 2002, in Reims (France), where he totally dismantled for sale. Sale in 2003 and then total restoration, as on the pictures. no accident, no rust, not welded. original color painted. extradition in M472 Comfort version (with Schiebach and Recaro seats).
A bidder has given me the info and website address, where the numbers for each accessible ....., so chassis number is the 188th What it brings to know that No, I can not imagine, but less so, I will ask the mails and less answered."
there was an aluminum ID plate attached to the car in the photos but it was not close enough to see in detail. If the original one is still at the shop I guess the one on the car is probably not original

The car was complete with original gearbox and engine (6630200) from 1990 til 1999
No interior, just a rolling shell.
The Dutch owner lived in south of the Netherlands, nearby Belgium border so maybe that gives some confusion.
It was sold end of 1999 by the old owner, he owned it from 1990.
And for sure the alu vin tag is the original one that came from the car during restoration, it was forgotten to hand it over during the pick-up in 1999
# 0087 is almost finished!
After 31 years of patience, my friend Christian should drive his 2.7 RS (first serie) soon. He renovated the car himself in the purest way, under the control of the best RS specialist in Switzerland. Matching numbers (original magnesium engine and gearbox), original parts, the star is almost ready.
He wants now to find a new owner for his lovely RS. He already has some interest but didn't finalize the deal.
