Has anyone else seen a Porsche COA that looks like this? I have not. Also, besides the engine number, it is interesting to see a different paint pattern around the last 4 digits of the vin. Also, this COA shows a rear apron, but I don’t see one on the car. Am I missing anything?

The COA is the version from mid-1980s. PCNA revived the COA after a lot of requests.

On market I hear. M471 Sport but with that chassis number after homologation was complete possibly not “lightweight”?

    Dealer Description:

A genuine Left-hand Drive Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight (M471) Sport, manufactured by Porsche in Stuttgart, completed at the factory in April 1973.

One of only 200 examples built to (M471) Sport - Lightweight specification, featuring minimal body undercoating or sound-proofing, simplified lightweight trim, manually operated windows, no rear seats, Recaro bucket seats for the driver and passenger, felt carpets and rubber mats. Homologated for both Group 4 Special GT and Group 3 Standard GT production categories – the Carrera RS was designed primarily as a racing car that still retained its everyday utility.

Chassis #1097 was delivered new in Tangerine and first registered on 24th May 1973 to Hans-Werner Schwab-Pepperhoff of Essen, Germany, who kept the car for some twenty-five years (German Fahrzeugbrief on file). After some years of use, he had the car re-painted in Grand Prix White and is said to have then kept the car in his private museum where it became little used, before eventually selling it in late 1998.

The car was then acquired by Porsche specialist Edmond-Harris and imported to the UK and registered on 17th June 1999. It was sold to Brian Burrows, a prolific Porsche collector and enthusiast, who owned a number of Carrera RS’s. In 2004 Mr Andrew Stevens of Norfolk, then purchased the car and had its body shell re-painted back to its correct colour of Tangerine. It was then last acquired by its present owner in April 2008. UK MoT certificates (on file) since 1999 record an increase of just 4,584 kilometres to its present day odometer reading of 52,712 kms.

Chassis #1097 retains its correct numbers-matching 2.7-litre type 911/83 engine, which was fully overhauled by us in 2015, following a timing chain slip. The chassis and productions numbers also present correctly and match factory records.
We are pleased to offer this very well presented, perfectly set-up and excellent driving example of arguably the greatest 911 models of all.

    Assuming original instruments:

The clock shows the inscription "VDO Kienzle" This would mean before March 73
The highest digit on the speedometer reads 250. This would mean before January 19,1973

Would be interesting to know the history on this and where it was first sold. I remember a comment somewhere that the cars shipped originally to Central and South America often included both the sunroof and air conditioning options.
