"1973 Porsche Factory RS Carrera in Concours Condition.
1973 Porsche RS Serial #9113600492. One of the First Series Lightweight cars converted to touring specifications prior to leaving the Porsche Factory.
This car was a bare tub complete 100% rotisseries concours restoration performed by world famous Scott St. Peter of Carrera 6 in Pasadena, Ca. This car was his personal project so it was subject to the best and most original restoration possible. Every component on the car was perfected to as original and in concours condition.
He reconverted the car to its original l.w. specs per its homologation requirements utilizing only factory components. Even the rare RS Lightweight seats are original and perfect. The front and rear Lightweight bumpers are factory original.

The engine is a factory RS engine that was renumbered (at the factory?) with the correct original motor number - done with proper factory stamps- This car is so well done the motor is not an issue and the price is circa $70,000.00 less expensive than a recent comparable car so the price is adjusted accordingly.
All tools, books and services. Everything is brand new on the car with less than 500 miles since its concours rotisserie restoration. Again, all factory original lightweight parts were used during the restoration. This is one of the finest RS Carreras available on the market today. It is priced according to market conditions. Carrera RS Background
The Carrera name was reintroduced from the 356 Carrera which had itself been named after Porsche's victories in the Carrera Pan-American races in Mexico in the 1950s. The RS was built so that Porsche could race it in the FIA’s Group 4, which demanded that a certain minimum number of production cars were made. Compared with a standard 911S, the Carrera 2.7 RS had a larger engine (2687 cc) developing 210 HP (154 kW) with MFI, revised and stiffened suspension, a "ducktail" rear spoiler, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and rear wings. In RS Touring form it weighed 1075 kg (2370 lb), in Sport Lightweight form it was about 100 kg (220 lb) lighter, the saving coming from the thin-gauge steel used for parts of the body shell and also the use of thinner glass. In total, 1580 were made, comfortably exceeding the 500 that had to be made to qualify for the vital FIA Group 4 class.
Carrera production started with chassis number 9113600011 (produced in 04/1972) till 9113601590 (produced in 07/1973). There were only 1580 original Carrera Rs's divided in roughly three production batches of 500 each. Of those 17 were homologation specials, 200 were Sports versions with M 471 code, 1308 were touring version with M 472 code, and 55 were racing specials coded M 491."
