    Dealer Description:

One of 200 M471 RS Lightweights produced, the early history of chassis 9113600810 is well known. 0810 was delivered new in 1973 to German Rally Ace Heinz Walter Schewe in the rare and desirable special-order colour code 328, Gulf Blue.

The comprehensive history file for 0810 contains original factory invoices from 1976, an important year for Schewe and his RSL. Schewe would win the German Rally Championship outright in 1976 with a number of Porsche 911 Carreras at his disposal & would go on to own chassis 0810 for 40 years until 2013.

Chassis 0810 was used to compete in Wales at the 24th Lombard RAC Rally in November 1976 with co-driver Franz-Josef Moormann as car #44. On file are the original invoices for RAC Rally preparation carried out at the factory in Stuttgart just prior to the event. This also includes the invoices for a factory replacement type 915 gearbox and clutch. Schewe would not complete the Rally after crashing out. Our expert investigations into the originality of the car with a well-known and respected UK based Porsche specialist confirms this major event in 0810s competition past prior to it being completely restored by Schewe to the condition it is presented in today with a correct for a 1973 RS type 911/83 but non-matching engine.

As a direct result of this period international competition history in the hands of a championship winning owner/driver, the car would undoubtably have needed various repairs after each campaign to meet the gruelling schedule for each season. The value and asking price for 0810 today is considerably lower than one may expect. We are aware of this part of 0810s history and to this end is now priced accordingly for an RS Lightweight in the condition it is presented in today.

Previously registered and correctly documented by the German authorities including a TUV certificate, now currently registered in the UK as 9113600810 and is offered complete with FIA HTP ‘Appendix K’ papers Period: H1 – 1972 to 1975 for racing, rally and hill climb valid until December 2029.

Therefore, chassis 0810 with its important period competition history, complete with its original documentation has the potential to be campaigned at major historic events such as Mont Ventoux, Modena Cento Ore and Tour Auto etc and would be a welcome entrant at concours events Worldwide.

    Dealer Description:

We've seen some excellent 911 Carrera 2.7 RS over the years, but we haven't seen a German first-hand, one owner RS with a complete history!

On June 25, 1973, Mr. Acher went to the registration office to register his dream of a brand-new Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS. He then called this car his own for over 30 years!
During this long period the car had a good life. It was only driven in the summer and regularly serviced. When the Porsche had to be taken to the body shop due to damage to a rear side panel, a Porsche driver friend of his persuaded Mr. Acher to use the wider RSR-arches at the same time. The original RS extensions were cut off and RSR extensions were welded on.

When Mr. Acher's time in the RS was over, he sold the Carrera, which had been in good condition until then, to a Porsche specialist in his area. Then it was passed on to a collector in Hamburg. Between 2007 and 2010, this collector had the car completely overhauled by well-known Porsche specialists and restored to its original condition.

The original RS extensions were correctly welded back on again with the exact welding seam known by RS specialists. All work is documented with invoices. In 2012 the car was integrated into the collection of a Porsche enthusiast from Stuttgart. In 2013, he had the underbody cleaned with dry ice and carried out a rust protection measure. In addition, the upper body was sanded down again due to small paint defects and repainted in the highest quality. Again, only excellent Porsche specialist were chosen and the result of the work is 100% correct to spec. In the following years, the car was used for occasional drives and was always regularly serviced and maintained.

I guess technically every car is a 1 owner car ... if you twist the meaning enough.

Per the RS Carrera book the only option is a retractable antenna.
16 cars in Aubergine. - pretty nice.
I’d be dubious of the reconstructed rear flares RS -> RSR -> RS back and forth.
As far as I understand the Carrera decals are not originally correct.
Multiple owners yet represented as one owner - why ?
Price seems like a big stretch.
Last two ‘73 Carerra’s sold in Europe for sub $500k.

    Auction Description:

    - One of Just 17 Homologation Carrera RS 2.7s Built
    - Well-Documented, First-Series Example Accompanied by Report from Marque Authority Prescott Kelly
    - Retains Matching-Numbers Engine and Gearbox per Factory Records
    - Formerly the Property of Noted Porsche Collector Dr. Richard Moran
    - Faithfully Restored in Original Colors by Model Expert Nate Cantwell

*Please note that this vehicle was possibly used to homologate 6" and 7" Fuchs wheels, which it currently wears, and not 7" and 8" wheels as stated in the published description.

Offered here, chassis 9113600508 is one of these 17 Homologation models, and one of just seven examples from the desirable first series of production. Completed in January 1973 and delivered on November 15, this RSH was finished in Grand Prix White with red lettering. A “Händler Nr 100” – or built for factory use – car, this RSH is mentioned as possibly used by Porsche to homologate 7" and 8" Fuchs wheels.

According to documentation on file, the first private owner of chassis 508 was Gilles Berengier of Marseille, France. It is not known how long the car remained in Europe but, by 1989, it was in the possession of Steve Harwin of Ohio, whose correspondence with Porsche about its status as a homologation model is on file. In the early 2000s, this RSH found its way to noted Porsche collector Dr. Richard Moran of Irvine, California.

Dr. Moran has notably owned numerous examples of the Carrera RS, including another Homologation model (chassis 016) that debuted the RS for Porsche at the 1972 Paris salon. Dr. Moran entrusted leading RS authority Nate Cantwell of Collinsville, Connecticut, to restore this RSH with the directive of retaining original panels and parts wherever possible. Faithfully refinished in its original combination of Grand Prix White with red accents, careful attention was paid to ensure the interior and other elements retained the unique features typical of homologation cars. During the same time, Scott Hendry and Dan Reese of Scott’s Independent in Anaheim, California, performed a mechanical restoration using plating, painting, and coating techniques consistent with original build processes. The correct “small hole” 7" and 8" Fuchs alloy wheels were refinished by expert Harvey Weidman. In spring 2017, this RSH was featured in an extensive article published in 000 magazine about the homologation models with reminiscences by its restoration team. Subsequently, Dr. Moran sold the Carrera RS to the current owner, a Swiss enthusiast with an extensive stable of the finest road and racing Porsches.

Accompanied by books, tools, jack, spare tire, and documentation, this RSH is also offered with a matching-numbers copy of Carrera RS by Dr. Thomas Gruber and Dr. Georg Konradsheim. Recently fettled by an RS expert in anticipation of this sale, this 1973 Porsche 911 RS 2.7 is one of only 17 examples delivered in its purest homologation form, and represents a rare opportunity to acquire an RS with these particular qualities. Owned and restored by arguably the best names in Carrera RS circles, this extraordinary RSH is a true find for the most discerning connoisseurs.

Porsche A.G., Stuttgart, Germany (retained for internal factory usage in 1973)
Gilles Berengier, Marseille, France (acquired in 1973)
Steve Harwin, Berea, Ohio (acquired by 1989)
Dr. Richard Moran, Irvine, California (acquired from the above by the early 2000s)
Current Owner (acquired from the above)
