Can't wait to see photos of your RS, Rikard. Please post a few for us please. TIA.
    Will do soon, thanks!

    [QUOTE=210bhp;835776]Hi Brian

Haven't seen you around here too much lately. Miss your input.

Andy I'm sure has sold it but I'm equally sure he knows where it is. There were a lot more bits and pieces from that RS sold at the same time and I know where they are too! Just waiting for Rikard to enter DDk and I think he will be pleasantly surprised at the response.

As can be seen, the car needs work but the basis is there. It was parked in that same spot for 15 years and the owners washed it when I came to see it which I did not want them to do lol
Lights, rear bumper, and spoiler are I correct and the color has been changed to a darker purple

Well, this is an interesting project, but at least you have a nice goal:

without ducktail, it will be very unusual.

    Auction Description:

    - First Series M471 Lightweight
    - One of only 240 Lightweight models built
    - Original Swiss delivery
    - Excellent provenance
    - Period racing history
    - Restored by Nate Cantwell and Douglas Brown
    - A well known and regarded RS Lightweight

The 2.7 RS of 1973 was conceived as a pure homologation special, as Porsche needed to build 500 road-going examples to qualify the new car for Group 4 GT racing. The car on offer, #9113600054, is one of only 240 RS Lightweight models produced by Porsche. The RS was a substantially-modified variant of the already potent 2.4-liter 911S. By increasing displacement, introducing various weight-saving measures, stiffening the suspension, and fitting aerodynamic aids, Porsche created an unrivaled sports car.

    054 vs 0354

The Keno brothers made a small :roll eyes:mistake, the car advertised is not 0054 but 354!!! Or is is just my monitor...Car was for sale in May by Design Motorsport?

I dont know but 0054 was a GP white /red M472 car definitely not this car which I believe IS 0354 which is a light yellow M471 originally delivered to Switzerland with engine 6630350 and transmission 7830333 (not 783033)

I dont know what they mean about "#6668112 (Original Engine Comes with Car)" but I took that to mean that it currently had engine 6668112 in it and the original engine case (6630350) came with the car.
However looking at the photo of the engine case that they provide it is obviously 6668112

    ScreenShot097.jpg
So i dont understand what they are trying to say.

In my records I have this car being sold, in May 2010, and for sale at Goodings in March 2015. My records have the car being restored by the then owner, a Mr Douglas Brown from New York, (I think two prior to the current one) in 1996 by Nate Cantwell with the engine being done Jack Refening in Florida with comments "Brown elected to use a NOS unstamped case for the rebuild and stamped the original engine number 6630350 on the case. Accompanied with the sale of the car is engine case numbered 6668112 and it remains a serviceable unit."

the auction description at that time also included in relation to its earlier competition life in Switzerland:

    "
During this competition period, the engine was replaced by another proper Type 911/83 unit (numbered 6668112) that was produced as part of a limited batch by the Porsche factory in 1976. Both documentation from Porsche and conversations with Maritz confirm that this replacement was required after an engine failure, and the replacement was acquired from Porsche and installed by a Swiss shop in 1976."

ALL of that seems legitimate and maybe there is further documentation/ commentary to come from these auctioneers. However the way it is presented at present opens up more questions than answers which in my opinion seems to be doing the vendor a disservice in the current market, especially if no photos of the actual vin stamp are present.

Interestingly it did not have any of the green decals at Goodings but did at Hemmings in May 2015 where the seller was listed as "Autosport designs Inc - Lotus Motorcars of Long Island"

for what it is worth this is the vin stamp shown in a previous sale
    New Picture (6).png

to me it looks like a 0354

Interesting info Hugh. I thought the same as you reading the description. Wonder which '76 Sondermodel Carrera this engine case should be in. Maybe Ryan knows.
