    Question Would BMW/MB rear view mirror base fit of 911 68?

    I've been looking for a correct 1968 911S rear view mirror for a while.

    My thread here:

    A member suggested looking at old BMW/MB rear view mirrors which look similar or are the same.

    Can someone confirm this? Would such a mirror fit?

    Boy that's a great question/idea. I have a '72 mirror (side view, though) with so much corrosion on the base that the stud snapped on disassembly. I think that would work with for the BMW side view mirrors too. I was going to drill and tap it for a new stud, but I like your idea better.

    Anyway, as the BMW mirror was cheap, I went ahead and bought it. I'll let people know if it fits once I get it.
