R Gruppe Treffen 06 My Thank You

    Hello all,
Terrie and I just got home late this afternoon and I am now just getting a chance to wind down from this last weekends events, WOW! They will be something I will never forget! I won't go into the details because I still need time to take it all in and I'm sure there will be plenty of additional postings in the next few days.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all who helped me to put this event together. Your willingness to jump in and help made it a success and it would not have happened without you! To all of those who attended Treffen 06 THANK YOU for your VERY GENEROUS gift of the ST seat! Seeing all the smiling faces and everyone having a good time is my reward but I have to tell you the ST seat was sure a suprise bonus!
The only cloud on the event was the very tragic news of the sudden death of Austrailan member Phil Lack's wife while he was attending the event. My and the R Gruppe's condolences go to Phil and his family back in Australia our prayers are with you at this sad time.
With my best regards to all!

    Roger,

Special thanks go to you for all the work you put into making this event an HUGE success. I realise many others were involved but you are the point guy for the majority of the details. The gift of the seat was a billiant idea and well deserved for your efforts. Hope to see you again soon.

    Belated thank you

Now that I've had a chance to catch my breath a little I just realized I forgot to thank Curt Egerer, Dave Conklin and all the rest of the Mid West R Gruppe members. The Porsche Prototype Era book with Vic Elford's and Brian Redman's autographs is fantastic! I've just had an chance to look through it,
    VERY COOL!
To everyone else, please keep posting your pictures as I am seeing much of what I missed while I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Thanks again to everyone, you're the best!
    All the best!

    Roger,

High-five for the best Porsche event in the world !!!

Thanks to you & all the volunteers for all your efforts, there is obviously a zillion little behind the scenes details that brought all this together.

I would like to also thank Dave Bouzaglou & Jeremy Cottrell of TRE Automotive. Tuesday am my 70E arrived at their shop w/ a bad coil.
Despite being very busy these guys got me right in, fixed & back on the road.

Steve DeJung of Dejung Motorsports of Cotati, CA is one of the true saints of the Porsche world. If you read your Treffen handout you saw Steve's offer of assistance to anyone that may need repair. My starter completely died
Saturday am before the drive. I called Steve & he said no problem, did a quick parking lot diagnosis, opened his shop up & replaced the starter.
I got the full tour of his shop filled w/ 356's, 911's & even an RS & Steve's
longtime early Porsche project. Did anyone know the owner of the Flamingo hotel has an 73 RS ? Hung out at the shop for awhile just talking cars w/ Steve. Steve did not charge me labor & sold me the Bosch starter at his wholesale cost. Wow...totally beyond the call of duty. I left his shop feeling like I had made a new friend. Thanks again Steve

To everyone who attended , volunteered, photographed (Sam), wined us (Eade) & wowed us , THANK YOU !

When Cornpanzer & I drove to Rennsport II in Daytona, we didn't think that experience could possibly be topped. This topped it. The bar has been set high. I'm not sure where we go from here!
