Thread: In the Year 2025

    In the Year 2025

    Gasoline prices will be $25.00 per gallon, and:

    1) The 912 will be worth 3 times as much as an early 911S because of gas milage, closely followed by the 911T, the 911Normale/911L, and the 911E.

    2) Early Recaro sport seats will traded on the NYSE and each share/seat will trade at par with Berkshire Hathaway A shares.

    3) All of the people who knew or had anything to do with the film "Le Mans" will be dead and gone. It will be replaced by "More Faster and More Furiouser 7" as the all time best car film.

    4) 356's will be sold for houses in Malibu Hills(and exmalibu will be doing crossword puzzles in an old folks home in Topeka telling his cellmates how he once owned a house on the beach before the big Tsunami of 09 hit and washed away his uninsured Malibu Barbie dreamhouse...

    5) Frank Galloghly will have cornered the market and owned more low miles 911's and early Porsche race cars than Seinfeld. Then in a great act of benevolence will decide to give raffle them off in order to build a hospital clinic dedicated to studying a cure for ADD - and of course use the donations as a tax write off!!!

    6) Medical science will have determined that eating Hostess Twinkies is healthy, and that drinking Tiger's milk and eating tofu burgers is unhealthy (okay so I stole that from Woody Allen's "Sleeper"").

    7) The art of rebuilding and calibrating early Bosch MFI will be forever lost after Gus at Pacific retires and moves onto to greener pastures.

    8) Hybrid motors will no longer meet American minimum gas mileage requirements, right when Ford and GM spend the past 20 years learning how to build one that is competitive with Toyota...

    9) The UN will pass the 31st resolution threatening sanctions to Iran if it builds it's 71st nuclear bomb

    10) John Fusco will visit Alan Gunn's gravesite in sunny southwest Florida and piss on his tombstone...

    That's good stuff. Particularly number 8)

    You sold that beautiful Irish Green Coupe? I don't believe it. What happened did someone make you an offer you couldn't refuse?

    I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.

    Hi Boboloo,
    Yes. Also, I thought it was time to move on and taste a different year/color/motor - and perhaps a targa instead of a coupe. I am a little concerned however that after having had the privilege of owning and driving my last one, it will be hard to find one that matches the charm and fun of my little 2.0L frog prince...

    Garth;

    Still can't believe you sold that car of yours. Wish the timing had been better (and I had the $$)
    I hope you didn't fall into a selling frenzy don't end up like the ex owner of "Shorty" (who shall remain nameless to protect his shame)
    Best of luck on your next project and that you find it soon - or you may end up putting Webers on the kid

    Let's hope I don't have to wait that long for #10 - but you can add a #11 - George K is elected unanimously as president of all things wheel for his proving beyond doubt that the wheel makes all things go round.

    Best;

    John

    Oops,
    Almost forgot #12.
    In the year 2025 owners of such colors as viper green and silver will succumb to re-sale pressure and repaint their cars to the new "in" color - Sepia
