    S Values

I know of a nice '72 911S Sunroof Coupe that just sold for $58,500. I think it was a bargain.

    Unhappy Where are the Esses??

I'm not ready to give up yet but I'm close! For over 1 year I've been looking for a 1972/73 911S. I've found BS artists, people trying to get rich, flippers, con men and sometimes I haven't known about a car for sale. My last Porsche was a '73 T. Absolutely perfect, low mileage car that I had to sell several years ago not thinking I would ever have another. Now, I'm trying to find a '69 - '73 S. It seems that word of mouth is the best source so if there is one out there I'd appreciate any info. I don't mind having to put some work in a car or paying for a car someone already has done work to. I do want #'s that match and I'm not looking for a rust bucket.

    Thanks for any info!

    Mike

It is not funny. The Ss are out there you just have to be prepared to pry one away from someone.

You're the second guy just within this forum looking for an S.

This is pure Econ 101. Its a simple supply and demand scenario. When the price that buyers are prepared to pay matches the price owners are prepared to sell for, the cars will change hands.

No one who "wants" an S seems to want one bad enough to step up to pay for them. As Don says "you just have to be prepared to pry one away from someone." Since this is still polite society its a case of money talks...
    Cheers,

    Nice T's and E's

Why not buy a perfect T or E?
That's the way to go. People go nuts over my car. They forget its a T within seconds.

    Perry,
They may all look the same, but the T and S are in different worlds when you put the pedal to the metal to see what the car is capable of doing .
Not trying to belittle anyone's T here, but there is a reason most people are looking for and willing to pay a premium for an S - the power. This is why at today's increasing S prices, rebuilding the engine on a nice T is becoming an attractive option for guys who don't have $60k to lay out for an S as an unnecessary 3rd car for fun, but have the need for an old school adrenaline rush...
