    Swamp coolers

Did porsche ever use these? They are very popular with the early VW crowd out here in the desert.

You dribble water over some packing and blow air over it at the same time, thewater evaporates and cools the air. Works very well in dry (<30% relative humdity) climates because it both cools and humidifies the air.

    Evaporative cooling

Its a big tube with a venturi down the middle, as you drive water is pulled from the tank into the ventrui where it evaporates and cools the air. Evap coolers are very effective in low humidity enviroments. Our house has it (along with most in albuquerque) instead of AC.

Next time the weather is hot and dry, pull the trigger on a spray bottle aimed at your face. Very refreshing when the air temp is +90º (cheap A/C).
