    1973.5 manual, which one?

Good morning everyone, I've recently rescued my father's 1973.5 911T. I'm looking for a good reference manual to help me with minor repairs on the vehicle. I might acquire the factory service manuals at a later date. Which manual would you recommend? I was having trouble finding one tha dealt with my particular year.

    Thanks,

    Ashford

    Ashford,
I have an extra copy of the 73.5 CIS manual that was sent to dealers service centers at it's mid year introduction. It deals with the new fuel injection set up in full detail.
It's a nice addition to the full service manual that covers all other aspects but this for a long hood car. It's in mint condition...$20 shipped to your door in the US. Email me directly if interested. estrub@buncombe.main.nc.us

    Ashford,

I have had the same car the past six years and have been going through it mechanically little by little. They are a joy to drive. I assume from your term "rescue" it has been sitting. If it has been, make sure you drain the fuel, change the fuel filter, and get fresh gas into the system.
Haynes has a manual that covers a number of years. It is around $15-$20 and might be a good place to start. Parts manuals are available on the Porsche website also. They are helpful when you need part numbers and need to put something together but forget where things go:

Feel free to email me any questions regarding your rescue project. I will help where I can:

    Good luck!

Daron, If Ashford doesn't take your book, I will.

You should be able to download the two first sections of the original manuals as .pdf files. Look under "General Info"

By the way, it is a great car!

Thanks for your help and responses and yes I did take Daron up on his offer. I also ordered the Haynes manual. I was also looking to see if there was ever a Bentley manual for these years, but don't think there was.

Oh, and thanks for the compliments. Aircool, I did rescue the car, but not from sitting. My father bought it new, but he lives on the MS coast and it got a little wet during Katrina. The damage was very minimal, and I consider myself very lucky, but that doesn't mean that the car is perfect. There is plenty to do, and as always all I need more of is time and money.

    Cheers,

    Ashford
