    Recognize These Seats?

Does anyone recognize these Recaro's? They're in a '67 I just bought - a friend of mine thinks that Recaro made them for BMW.

    Thanks,

Looks like it. Recaro made a lot of seats for the aftermarket in the late 70's into the 80's. I had a pair of LS models that were similar to these although they were done in a "cool" (now hideous) fade orange to some other awful color. If they were leather they are likely out of a BMW.

Anybody remember drooling over the Electrodyne catalogs of the period? You old farts...

I think they are the same seats I have in my '73S. I've been told they are Recaro seats made for the Porsche but perhaps a year or two more recent than my car. They sit really nice, however.

    Now I am curious too.

BTW, I have since replaced that Fitipaldi wheel with an original. Anyone want to make an offer on the Fitipaldi?

They look like the "sport" seats used from 74-83, very comfy but they weigh a ton.

You hit that nail on the head. Even the period correct are "anchors". I recall installing a pair and noting the rear of the car dropping about half to three quarters of an inch!

I've attached a photo of correct "1973" Sport Seats. The perforated center section was done to order by me. They are normally non-perforated material, corduroy or the current trendy Pepita/Hounds-tooth.

BTW, do this have thigh adjustments? They appear to be sectioned at the front.

    Seats

Hello: Those seats you have look like BMW seats from 80's 90's cars. Does the front bottom section move out towards the steering wheel? They are nice seats but are heavy just like the original Porsche seats. Thanks Eric

    Eric:

Yes, the front most section of the seat will move 'adjust' toward the steering wheel as you suggested, at least mine (pictured above in this post) do.
