    Torsion Bar ;Sway Bar Info Needed

    I would like to know the Stock Torsion Bar , and the Sway Bar sizes for the following 911's; Are they all the same? I am a bit confused and seem to be getting different info from different sources;
    1973 911S
    1973 911E
    1973 911RS

    Thanks;

    I think the T-bar sizes were all the same- 18.8mm F and 23mm R until the SC in '78, when the rear bars changed to 24.1mm. I have heard conflicting info on the ARBs, I think bars were produced in 13, 14, 15, and 16mm in the early years, but 16mm F and 15mm R has been reported as stock for all the early 911S thru '73 by some sources. I know that's is what is on my '67S.

    According to the Factory's Tech Spec book the 911S was fitted with 15mm F&R sway bars as standard - optional on T & E models.

    The Carrera RS came as std with the same sway bars as the S model but had the option of an 18mm front/19mm rear combination.

    Torsion Bar , sway Bar Sizes

    According to Stoddards catalog, where I didn't think to look ,
    Front Sway Bar, 67-73; 16mm
    Rear Sway Bar, 67-73; 15mm
    Front Torsion Bar 67-73; 19mm
    Rear Torsion Bar 67-73; 23mm

    I don't know if this is Gospel or not;

    Pete,

    From what I've learned, and checked on my own car and others, Andy is right ...

    The '73S, and optionialy equipped '73 cars, had 15mm sway bars front and rear as did the 'standard equipped' factory '73 RS's

    Cheers,
