Thread: Jack plug for 73 and earlier?

Jack plug for 73 and earlier?

I needed a couple of new jack plugs for my 73.5 911 and placed an order without looking too hard at the specifics. They came in but are too short to be inserted in the hole. I then looked at my order and noticed that it said for years 74 - 89 or so. I then looked some more to order the correct part, including speaking to a Porsche dealer and had no luck.

What solution have you guys found?

    Thx,

    Ashford

Pre-'74 911's did not use a jack hole plug.

If you don't plug it now with the POR 15 you will later

If your car is truly 73.5 then someone has added later rocker trim.

That is a G body/ 74-89 rocker which was the only jack point that used a plug. The dealer should carry it.

    Wink Jack plug ?

Right Don,but the "G" body rocker cover and moulding installed on a "F" series
car prevents the correct fitment of said cover because its length wont allow
it to go into the jack tube which is what actually holds the plug ..Bert
