    Unknown Porsche Interesting Tale

Labor Day Weekend, 1976. The Auburn Cord Dusenburg Festival. I'm visiting my folks in Ft. Wayne, lived in Honolulu, drove across the Country with my girlfriend in ger brother's Ford Courier pickup with a camper on the back from San Francisco. Had $7k in my pocket. The seller wanted $8.5, I offered $6.5, figuring I needed $500 to ship it from Oakland to Honolulu. Got him down to $7K but couldn't do it. Never found out what it was but it was the only Porsche at the show.

That looks similar to this GS that Ben Pons drove at LeMans in '63.

I know it had a 4 Cam and some race documentation including Le Mans. It was aluminum and the tail lights suggest post 57. Maybe the deck with the grill got changed when it was converted to street. Had Arizona tags.
