    2006 Taj Speedfest / Midwest R Gruppe

Here're a few photos from last weekend's Taj Kreuzers Speedfest / Midwest R Gruppe Annual Meet. Another excellent event!

Photo 1 -- a special car - it's Bob Manor's 73 that was converted 'back in the day' to RS specs by Kremer. I will start a new thread on it.

    Photo 2 - Vic Rola's 72 - note the 6 inch steel rally wheels.

Photos 3 & 4 -- the highlight of weekend each year, the cookout/drinkfest at Dave's house!

Photo 5 - Bill's thinking when he gets his 2.8 twin-plug completed, it will eat this Kremer car for lunch .....

Photo 1 -- Vic Rola and Bob Manor cars. These 2 guys were a part of some R Gruppe folklore. For those who attended Rennsport II, Vic's car represented the 1972 model year in the 40 year 911 line up. They did a parade lap with all 40 models. The parade lap was slow - slow like a Christmas parade where they throw candy to the spectators .... just before the horseshoe turn, Vic's car slowed to a near stop. After the car in front got ahead quite a ways, Vic's car (the only R Gruppe car in the line up ....) did a sweet burnout and powerslide to the cheers of the fans lining the fence I found out this weekend, it was actually Bob at the wheel. Nice work Bob.

Photo 2 -- Vic Rola's 72, ready for the AX.

Photos 3 & 4 -- Jared and Bill check out the Cadillac that showed up at the AX .... both these guys look seriously interested ....

Photo5 -- Interior of the Kremer car - real Recaros.

Finally, a few from the VIP night at the Taj Ma Garaj.

Photo 1 - the Paris Auto Show 550.

Photo 2 - The Red Bull F1 car.

Photo 3 - this gives you an idea of the general theme of the Taj .... look closely, the hood light works and it's signed by Vic Elford!

How about this killer 914-6. My buddy Bob Bennett (the same guy who built the 4-cam sedan delivery 356) built this for a local Dr.

Yeah, that's the Emory car owned by Alan Brody. I don't have any photos of it.

One more from the Garaj - an early car cut in half as part of a wall mural (even the seats and steering wheel inside are cut.
