    Mystery Seats

I found a pair of these over the weekend. The owner, who is does reupholstery of (very) high level cars, says they are from a vintage Porsche GT. They're wider than Speedster seats and are the same width as 356 T6's and early 911's. They have their original upholstery on them. Can anyone identity them?

    Thanks,
    John Audette

Super 90 GT seat? I've seen these before but cannot remember exactly what they were in. I do recall the carpeted back.

    Mystery Solved

I talked to Tony at Autobahn Interiors and he says that these seats are the ones used by Porsche in the early Carrera cars, both Speedsters and Coupes. Just like Speedster seats except wider and drilled aluminum. Evidently very rare, but not for 911's.

Does Your Friend Want To Sell His 356 Seats?

I Have A 356 That Could Use Those Seats.. They Should Have Steel Bases Riveted To Alloy Shells..

The Upholstery Does Not Look Original..

    I have a 64 C that it would look good in ;-)

Appears like these are the late 356 GT seats, similar to the speedster seats but wider and with more side bolster.

Could also be one of those ellusive early 911/901 race buckets we've seen come around every once in a while...

Seriously, I would be interested in the seat but since I read your posts on the 356Registry list yesterday and given execmalibu's post, I suspect I am at the end of a long line of suitors...

    Congrats on the nice find!

    Mystery UNsolved

I thought this was solved, but evidently this is definitely NOT a 356 seat. So what is it?

This looks like the optional 'Ferrari' sport seat available for '65/'66 911 models (info taken from Brett Johnson) - a picture of an identical-looking seat appears on P66 of his book "The Porsche 911 & 912 - a Restorer's Guide to Authenticity".

Andy is absolutely right - those are the seats!. Now I'm wondering what to do with them. I have a '67 (VIN 306607), which is a fairly early '67, but I don't know if they would be correct for it or not. Plus I'm thinking of doing a 911R clone.
